In case you ever wanted to read my journal…

I’m grateful for journals.

I’m grateful I made the decision at age 10 to start a journal & now 15 years later I have a storage tote completely filled with journals.

On November 13, I finished another journal. My last entry reads—

“I’m getting emotional sitting down to write what will be my last entry in this journal.

This has been my favorite journal yet because of the depth & miracles— darkness & light.

It is a pearl.

A treasure.

I can never replace what these pages taught me. It may be the most important thing I’ve ever written.”

I’m grateful not only for my journals, but for the journals of family members and ancestors. I’ve been able to come to know these people so intimately through the words they left behind.

if you don’t keep a journal, start now. Some of my entries are just random thoughts I have, lyrics that are stuck in my head, even stick figure drawings when I can’t express what I’m feeling. Write. Just write. Start today. It’s so worth it.🤍
